Jon Bon Jovi talks about the Burning Bridges album.
“The Burning Bridges record is a, um, how do I put it or explain it? It’s our latest, not our next. This is sort of the end of a cycle, not the beginning of the new one. And 2014 was a pretty traumatic year for me. And I’ve come through it, and I’m back to sound mind and body. At least I think so. But ‘14 was a miserable year. So this is the end of a cycle. In the meantime, the album that will come out in April or May is fantastic. I’m really proud of it. I don’t hate Burning Bridges by any means, but some of the songs are ten years old. You know they’re songs that we didn’t use before. We Don’t Run is a new one but Saturday Night Gave Me Sunday Morning is probably, I don’t know, eight or ten years old. It’s okay, it wasn’t good enough to make a record at the time, but it’s cool, you know, I’m glad we did it. It’s the end of an era. I probably can’t tell you much more than that. It’s delivered in a brown paper bag, that’s the album cover. There’s no lyrics, there’s no credits, there’s no videos, there’s no interviews. But there’s no band stuff in it, don’t look too deeply, it’s not that. But anyway Burning Bridges will come out… …. and then I got a great album.”
